Announcement

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Pam Watts, a wonderful lady who has been a member and friend of Gillingham Dramatic Society for many years. She was our currnet company President and ardent supporter of us and our productions. She will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with her friends and family, especially her husband John who celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with her just two weeks ago.

Our Next Production is OKLAHOMA! from 6-9th October at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone. More details will be posted soon.

Sad News

This year the society has tragically lost both of its presidents, as Olga and Bill Laraman have passed away.

We send our love and condolences to their family and friends. We will all miss them and the great contributions they have made to the society over the years.

Change of name

It has been decided to change the company's name from Gillingham Operatic and Dramatic Society (G.O.D.S) to Gillingham Dramatic Society (G.D.S.) to more accurately reflect the nature of our productions. It was felt that the word 'operatic' in our name suggested that our productions were operas! As we do not perform opera and wish to make that clear to members of the public, we have dropped this term from our name.
