Rehearsal Schedule Feb/March 2009
The AGM (Annual General Meeting) will take place at the Brook Theatre at 8pm on Thursday 26th February in the conference room (downstairs)
There will be no rehearsals w/c 3rd March (neither Tuesday and Thursday)
Tuesday 10th March 7.30pm : We will meet to watch the film of "King and I" at the Brook (conference room)
Tuesday 17th March: Music Rehearsal (no kids required)
Further details are yet to be decided and announced.

Sad News
This year the society has tragically lost both of its presidents, as Olga and Bill Laraman have passed away.
We send our love and condolences to their family and friends. We will all miss them and the great contributions they have made to the society over the years.

New Web Forum
For those that don't know yet, we have a new forum for members and friends of the society. Please pop in and introduce yourself - feel free to post new topics/discussions, and contact the administrator if you have ideas for new forum subjects.
Change of name
It has been decided to change the company's name from Gillingham Operatic and Dramatic Society (G.O.D.S) to Gillingham Dramatic Society (G.D.S.) to more accurately reflect the nature of our productions. It was felt that the word 'operatic' in our name suggested that our productions were operas! As we do not perform opera and wish to make that clear to members of the public, we have dropped this term from our name.

We are delighted to announce that we have managed to secure Lionel Bart's "Oliver!" for our October production.
Auditions for members take place on at 7p.m. Thursday 15th May, the Brook Theatre, Chatham

The GODS email address has now changed due to a large amount of spam clogging the inbox. You will find a link on the bottom left of most pages on the site: this should open a window in your email if you have it open. Alternatively right-click your mouse and select 'copy shortcut' from the pop-up menu into your email address box, making sure to delete the 'mailto' prefix. (you will also be able to see the email address in your status bar at the bottom left, when you hover the mouse over the link if you wish to write it down). "Carousel" by Rodgers and Hammerstein II - performed October 11th-13th 2007
The cast had a wonderful time performing this mould-breaking Rodgers and Hammerstein II classic. With a moving story and smashing musical numbers such as "If I Loved You", "June is bustin' out all over!" and "You'll never walk alone", we really enjoyed putting this production together.
