Gillingham Dramatic Society (G.D.S) has been operating in its current form for 36 years (although we were previously known as Gillingham Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society (G.A.O.D.S). We dropped the 'operatic' from our name, as we felt it may have confused people (we have had people wondering whether Cinderella was an Opera?!) Prior to that we were linked to Gillingham Parish Church with a history going back even further.

We perform one major musical and one pantomime each year. The musical is performed in October either at the Brook theatre, Chatham or the Hazlitt, in Maidstone and the pantomime over the February half term and the Brook Theatre, also in Chatham. We have just finished performing a fantasic version of the musical adaptation of The Ugly Duckling - "Honk!". For more information about this and previous shows, please visit our Productions page.

Gillingham Dramatic Society also performs ad hoc concerts and are available to hire for this purpose. We perform many of your favourite songs from all sorts of musicals.
